A single press of the red button is all it takes to dial your most important number, whether it is the emergency doctor, the ambulance service or a close relation. Two numbers can be stored on each of four further direct-dial buttons, giving you a “direct line” to your eight most frequent contacts. The big buttons feature large-size numerals and are spaced well apart to prevent misdialling, while a clearly legible display relays important information. The number you last called is stored so that you can redial it as often as you like. What is more, the FamiTel ab is designed so that the hard-of-hearing will only need to switch their hearing aids to telephone mode to hear conversations at the right volume automatically. Receiver volume can be adjusted across a wide range simply by pressing a button, so every word is audible even when background noise interferes. The phone also features a built-in loudspeaker so that others can listen in if required.
